I’m currently on Day 3 of a three week visit to India. I’m staying in Delhi for the majority of my trip with my brother and family, as well as spending some time in Mumbai and hopefully Rajasthan.
The temperature is currently ranging from 27 to 43 degrees which is a little too crazy hot for me! It feels like walking around in a sauna all day, so I’m spending loads of time swimming and staying indoors with nice cool Aircon 😂😂
Coming from NZ I’ve been lucky enough not to experience any jetlag but I have so far had one hangover, haha.
I have loved India so far and can’t wait to explore more! The food is amazing and the people I have met have been so friendly 🙏🏽
So far I have experienced quite the ex-pat life of New Delhi – I been to a huge mall which has all my fave European brands – Zara, Mango, H&M, and attended a function to promote NZ Music and an Education NZ fashion show ‘Runway to NZ’ to promote cross-country Uni studies between NZ and India.
Getting around the city is really easy, using Uber or jumping in a Tuk Tuk. As the Tuk Tuk’s are open vehicles it is a really hot way to travel around!
Walking around the streets there is quite a bit of haggling but you get used to this pretty quickly, I wouldn’t cruise around at night on my own but during the day its ok and it is best to dress modestly so the stare factor is a little less!
I’m really interested to spend some time with a local chef here to learn about Indian cooking and the more traditional Indian way of life so I’ll be looking to complete a few food posts. And will also look to take in the sites as well as a few local yoga classes.
great post
